3.7 million square feet of glass installed in Utah’s Capitol building

4.7 Million square feet worth of glass was installed in the Utah Capitol building on Monday as part of a $3.7M project to prevent flooding.
The project, called Bathtub Glass, was approved by the Salt Lake City City City Council, the city said in a news release.
It was funded by the city’s Capital Improvements Fund and the Salt River Project.
About 2,000 people, including two state senators, a state representative and a state legislator, were in attendance at the ceremony to celebrate the completion of the project, Salt Lake Mayor Ben McAdams said.
Salt Lake City, Utah has a population of about 1.6 million.
It is the largest city in the state with a population less than 10,000.
