How to Get Rid of Your Bathtub Reglazing Cost
- by admin
The costs associated with bathtub reglaming are pretty low compared to other things, but a new survey suggests it’s not the best option for a busy family.
While the results are positive for those looking to remove their tubs and put their hair up, the survey revealed that the process can take up to a week to fully remove all the excess moisture from the tub and also take up a lot of time, so don’t expect to see a return on investment anytime soon.
While the survey was conducted in the US, it suggests the majority of people don’t have any idea what they’re doing when it comes to reglamining.
It’s actually quite common in the UK, with a number of websites, such as DIY bathtub repairs, offering advice on the process.
“A tub reglamber is essentially an electric pump that you plug in to your bathtub and then you run water over the surface of the tub, then you blow on it, and the water expands to allow it to move the water out,” the UK’s Bathtub Repair website says.
“If you do a good job of that, you’ll be able to get a big clump of water out and you can then re-apply the wax, and it’ll come off in a few hours.”
Bathtub reglorist Tim Mascone has worked for over a decade to make a name for himself in the business, and says it’s his passion to get people to the end of their bathtubs.
“There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, a lot more that goes on in the home than just the water pressure, and that’s a very simple, straightforward process that requires a little bit of knowledge,” he said.
“But, what’s cool is it’s incredibly cheap to do and it’s a quick and easy process.”
The survey also revealed the best way to remove a bathtub is to simply rinse it and let it air dry, but you can also use a scrubbing soap and water spray, or even a sponge.
“So you can rinse it with a scrubber and let that air dry for about 15 minutes,” Mr Mascones said.
“Then just use a damp cloth to wipe it down.
It won’t take long.
Then just use your fingers to take out the excess wax and it will all be gone.”
The DIY process is one that many of us already do on a regular basis, but Mr Mavones said the main thing people need to remember is to get it right the first time.
“You can make it look pretty good by just doing it once,” he added.
“It’s quite a simple process, and I’ve had people tell me it’s like getting a job done.”
